Over two hundred birds fly over North Texas every year. My wife and I entertain roughly forty species of birds in our own backyard which started from a rectangular plot of grass into a full blown ecosystem fostering wrens, warblers, mockingbirds, jays, and more.
Bird song is as essential to our daily lives as it is universally captivating to everyone else who stops to listen. Because backyard habitat restoration provides an up-close lens into nature, my most rewarding photography happens right outside my back door.
